How to Enable Walk Away Auto Lock:
- On the touchscreen, go to the second page.
- Select Vehicle Settings.
- Choose Keyless Access Setup.
- Turn on Walk Away Auto Lock.
Once activated, the car will automatically lock when you walk away with the key fob, ensuring your peace of mind.
Ventilate Your Car with the Key Fob
Summer can be brutal, especially when your car has been sitting in the sun. Wouldn’t it be great to cool it down before you get in? With the key fob, you can!
How to Use the Key Fob to Ventilate:
- Double-tap the unlock button on your key fob.
- Hold the button on the second tap.
The windows will roll down as long as you hold the button, letting hot air escape and making your summer drives more comfortable.
Hidden Key in the Key Fob
Did you know there’s a hidden key inside your key fob? This can be a lifesaver in certain situations.
Uses for the Hidden Key:
- Unlocking the door if the car battery is dead.
- Simply pull the lever on the back of the key fob to access the key shank.
- Insert the key into the door’s keyhole to unlock the car.
- Rolling up the windows.
- Insert the key into the keyhole, double-tap, and hold to roll up the windows.
Personalizing the Touchscreen Background
One way to make your Ridgeline truly yours is by personalizing the touchscreen wallpaper.
How to Change the Touchscreen Background:
- Go to Settings and select Clock Face.
- Choose from preset options or upload your own images.
- To upload, save JPEG images on a flash drive, plug it into the car, and select Add More.
You can set your favorite images, whether they’re family photos, pets, or even your favorite YouTube star.
Adaptive Cruise Control: How to Use and Toggle
Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) can make long drives more comfortable. It adjusts your speed to maintain a safe distance from the vehicle ahead. However, if you prefer standard cruise control, you can easily switch between the two.
How to Toggle Between Adaptive and Standard Cruise Control:
- Locate the cruise control buttons on the right-hand side of the steering wheel.
- Hold down the button to switch between ACC and standard cruise control.
- Use the toggle button to adjust the following distance.
The driver’s interface will display visual cues to indicate which mode is active.
Locking the Tailgate with the Key Fob
Many Ridgeline owners choose to accessorize their vehicles with a truck bed cover. Did you know that you can lock the tailgate along with the doors using the key fob?
How to Enable Tailgate Power Locking:
- On the touchscreen, go to the second page and select Vehicle Settings.
- Choose Door and Window Setup.
- Scroll to Tailgate Power Locking and enable it.
Now, when you lock the car with the key fob, the tailgate will lock as well, keeping your cargo secure.
Resetting the Trip Odometer
Keeping track of your mileage is essential. Here’s how to reset the trip odometer.
How to Reset the Trip Odometer:
- Use the scroll wheel on the steering wheel.
- Navigate to Range and Fuel on the driver’s interface.
- Select Trip A or Trip B and press the scroll wheel to reset.
You can also set the trip odometer to reset automatically upon refueling or turning off the vehicle.
Locking the Key Fob Inside the Vehicle

How to Lock the Key Fob Inside the Vehicle:
- Remove the hidden key from the key fob.
- Place the key fob inside the car.
- Shut the door and use the key shank to lock it manually.
- To unlock, insert the key and turn it.
