eVX: Specifications and Features
The eVX is a subcompact crossover SUV built on the new Heartect-e electric vehicle platform. It will be available with two battery options: a 49 kWh pack delivering 106 kW and a 61 kWh pack producing 128 kW. The top variant features the AllGrip-e all-wheel-drive system, offering 135 kW of power and 300 Nm of torque. The vehicle boasts a range of up to 500 km on a single charge.
Advanced Technology and Comfort
The eVX is anticipated to feature advanced technology, including a large infotainment touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a digital instrument cluster, and electronically adjustable front ventilated seats.
Manufacturing and Global Reach
Production of the eVX will commence in spring 2025 at Maruti Suzuki’s Gujarat plant in India. Approximately 50% of the production is designated for export to European and other global markets, highlighting India’s role as a key hub for Suzuki’s EV initiatives.
Strategic Partnerships
In a significant collaboration, Maruti Suzuki will supply the eVX to Toyota, marking the first joint effort between the companies on electric vehicles. This partnership underscores a shared commitment to sustainable automotive solutions.
Charging Infrastructure Expansion
To support the eVX and future EVs, Maruti Suzuki plans to install fast charging points every 5 to 10 kilometers in India’s top 100 cities. The company is also considering a battery rental service to address consumer concerns about battery life and charging accessibility.
