Toyota has introduced 2026 Toyota RAV4 GR Sport with new powertrains, interior tech & exterior design.
Exterior Design
2026 Toyota RAV4 GR Sport is designed to showcase more more aggressive stance over its already sharp silhouette. I personally like new honeycomb-style grille and shiny black cladding which look very much sporty to me. Newly redesigned headlamps feels more modern and striking with shades like red or dune gray.
Adding to the sporty demeanor is a 20mm wider track and a revised suspension setup. Additionally, performance dampers are tuned rear axle. This new 2026 Toyota RAV4 GR Sport now sits on massive 20-inch black alloy wheels making more sportier than ever.
Plug-in Hybrid Powertrain
2026 RAV4 GR Sport is equipped with the powerful and fuel efficient 2.5L 4-cylinder engine which comes in both hybrid and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) options.

- 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in ~6 seconds
- 23 kWh gross battery capacity 11 kW
- AC and 50 kW DC charging capability (10% to 80% in ~30 minutes)
This new battery is mounted centrally and low in the vehicle which improves the center of gravity and provide better handling. Toyota has given EV-style battery packaging in 2026 Toyota RAV4 GR Sport which is next level thing for more dynamic and balanced driving feel.

Inside GR Sport signature, we get sporty microfiber seats with leatherette trim, red contrast stitching, and aluminum pedals. There is GR logo given on steering wheel making it look more cooler.

GR Sport is very much similar to Standard RAV4 but there are some minor changes where GR Sport stands out:
- Gloss black cladding vs. matte finish
- Exclusive wheel and grille designs
- Unique GR Sport badges and interior trim
- Enhanced suspension tuning
Main difference is that standard version feel more lighter interiors, body-colored roofs, and brighter wheel while GR Sport feel more of darker, striking and modern.
Practicality of 2026 RAV4 GR Sport
Despite it being more sportier, 2026 RAV4 GR Sport retains it’s practical features like:
- Upright rear design ensures generous cargo capacity
- Adjustable rear seat recline Flat,
- Wide boot area with over 48 inches of width
- Folding rear seats for up to 73 inches of loading length
- Full-size spare tire under the floor (a rare feature nowadays)
Battery placement has improved the rear seats seating angle but overall headroom and legroom remain solid even for passengers over 6 feet.
