Past week at Ford Nationals, Ford has unveiled its 2026 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350R. It was presented by the President of Shelby American Gary Patterson. He said “This car is built for the track but is completely street-legal.”

2026 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350R is massive powerhouse with fourth-generation Coyote V8 equipped with a 3.0-liter Whipple supercharger. Ford says, this generates 830 horsepower and has manual transmission only for GT350R. Manual transmissions are more fun in the muscle cars do you agree?
Patterson said, this is built with collab with Turnkey Automotive. this model has track specific features and components like adjustable suspension, external shock reservoirs, and Alcon-spec brakes developed for the Trans Am series.
And let me tell all of these design element are proper fictional and provide improved aerodynamics.
- More aggressive front splitter,
- large hood vents,
- a carbon fiber rear diffuser,
- taller wing for increased downforce.
I personally like the idea of having GT350R’s racing stripes and graphics are painted on making it more better than the vinyl decals. Inside, the cabin features a full carbon fiber tub extending to the rear, along with custom Sparco carbon seats stitched with the GT350R logo.
I also saw there is carbon accent on the dashboard, center console and steering wheel. It is the first time we are seeing full size carbon tub in any muscle car. Shelby team has also that 2026 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350R will take part in the Trans Am series starting next year. This racing variant will also share same components with street version like aerodynamic profile and braking setup. The showcased model also bore a “Trans Am” badge and the Shelby 60th Anniversary emblem.
Most importantly 2026 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350R is emissions-compliant and fully street legal. Productin is already started and will be available after July 2025.
