Since they are two trims of Colorado it is obvious that they will feature some similar features. but Z71 being higher trim offers extra features which will be covered in the next segment. for now following are some of the common features shared in two trims.

There is slight difference between material used in the interior cabin. The Trail Boss has more utilitarian approach, it offers hard-touch plastics on doors and dashboard, standard cloth seats, and fewer luxury options. While Z71 gives us soft touch material with red contrast stitching which i personally like very much.
Additionally, we get synthetic leather and heated front seats which are missing in Trail Boss trim. Other premium features include ventilated seats, power adjustments, and premium touches like chrome door handles and a leather-wrapped steering wheel.
In Z71 there is USB-C charging ports and a 120-volt power outlet. Overall, Z71 offers way more features than Trail Boss making it more value for money than Trail Boss.

Both trims are have same engine which is 2.7L turbocharged four-cylinder engine producing 310 horsepower and 430 lb-ft of torque. since they have same engine they both have similar fuel efficiency like 17 mpg city and 20 mpg highway with the ability to run on regular 87 octane fuel. Main difference is that Trail Boss’s lifted suspension and off-road tires which are superior in the off-road performance.
