Powertrain & Comfort
2026 Open Trail RV is built on Mercedes‑Benz 3500XD AWD dual-wheel cutaway platform known for its reliability. It runs on 2.0 L turbo‑diesel engine with 208 horsepower and it’s 9‑speed automatic transmission is really helpful for power adjustment in various terrains.
It is loaded with standard SumoSprings rear ride-assist which is an must needed feature for this RVs improved comfort by absorbing shocks from the damp roads. Also, high-output 220-amp alternator is capable to handle all the onboard electronics and optional Lithionics battery systems making this RV more reliable on long trips.
This big sized RV needed good braking so Tiffin Motorhomes have added ABS brakes, making it smoother to brake in any conditions.
Safety Features
Tiffin has integrated full suite of Mercedes-Benz advanced safety technologies into the 2026 Open Trail RV making it much more safer than anything. it’s notable features include:
- Active Brake Assist for automatic emergency braking,

2026 Open Trail 25 AO floorplan offers 25′ 6″ length, 84″ rear width, 80″ interior ceiling height with 114.8 sq ft of livable space. making it more spacious and comfort living RV. In the rear it has twin 32″×76″ beds that are seamlessly merges into king-size 76″×80″ beds. this is an complete setup for couples and small family.
In the front area there is heated captain’s chairs which are convertible to sleeper or optional L‑shaped lounge with a dining table. this is great for daytime seating and can be converted for sleeping in the night. this all new 25 AO layout makes it more spacious and adaptable B+ for extended outdoor adventures.

Tiffin Open Trail 25AO features fully functional kitchen with solid-surface countertops along with added utensils like
- Stainless microwave/air fryer combo,
- A hideaway faucet,
- Single-burner induction cooktop,
- A dual-hinge 10–10.5 cu ft fridge/freezer for flexible access.
It has standard power output of 270Ah Battle Born lithium battery, 3,000W inverter, and a 3.2kW diesel generator. Also, upgradable to high-capacity 51V/165Ah Lithionics battery with dedicated alternator and dual 200W solar panels for extended off-grid use.
Constructions & Comfort
High pressure laminate, cabinetry mounted on steel frames are resistance to moisture, scratches, and everyday wear and tear making it more practical than ever. 48″×32″ of full size bath are given with sealed waterproof walls, a skylight over the shower. We personally impressed with the ducted 15,000 BTU Gree air conditioner with heat pump it has very consistent whisper-quiet cooling in all conditions.
