Powertrain Performance
2026 Toyota Prius will be available in two different engines one is standard 2.0L and another is award-winning hybrid powertrain.
Standard hybrid 2.0L system offers 194 horsepower in front wheel drive while 196 horsepower in the all wheel drive model. It is said to achieve 0-60 mph in just 7.0 seconds and have impressive fuel efficiency of 57 MPG combined.
Next is Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV) engine which is exclusive to Nightshade trim and has 220 horsepower with 13.6 kWh battery. it has all electric range of 44 miles (SE grade) or 40 miles (XSE/Nightshade) with hybrid mode of achieving 52 MPG combined. Also, it takes ~11 hours on 120V or ~4 hours via Level 2 charging.
