2026 Hyundai NEXO, the second generation of Hyundai’s hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicle showcases Hyundai’s 27 years of fuel cell expertise. The 2026 facelift model will feature newer powertrain, exterior styling and tech features.

Design Highlights of 2026 Hyundai NEXO
The NEXO adopts Hyundai’s “Art of Steel” language from the INITIUM concept, with robust lines, horizontal grooves on doors, and chunky fenders for a rugged look.
Distinctive HTWO parametric lamps and 4 Dot rear lamps set it apart as an FCEV. It grows slightly in size for better presence while maintaining a 109.8-inch wheelbase.
Powertrain Upgrades
A new fuel cell stack delivers 110 kW gross output (94 kW net), paired with doubled power electronics battery capacity at 80 kW and 2.64 kWh energy. This system will pack 190 kW, for the front electric motor it will get 150 kW along with 350 Nm torque for 0-100 km/h in 7.8 seconds.
Hydrogen storage increases to 6.69 kg from 6.33 kg, enabling up to 826 km WLTP range after a five-minute refuel. Also, the cargo capacity expands to 510 liters (1,630 liters folded, VDA).
Interior and Technology
In the cabin, we will see soft-touch materials, eco fabrics with a curved dual 12.3-inch display setup for infotainment and system settings. Other features will include:
- Wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto,
- 14-speaker Bang & Olufsen audio,
- Head-up display
- Generative AI voice recognition
Rear space will include more space now with ventilated seats and wider doors.
Safety Systems
Nine airbags protect occupants and the hydrogen tank in a multi-skeleton body with hot-stamped high-strength steel. ADAS suite includes Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist 2.0 with Evasive Steering Assist, blind-spot monitoring, Highway Driving Assist, surround-view camera, and remote smart parking.
