Honda is preparing to launch multiple products in 2028 to 2030 year. key models that will receive major refresh during this timeline is Ridgeline, Odyssey, and Element and new flagship Acura. However, i am most excited for the a crossover concept vehicle based on the Honda Accord to compete against Subaru Outback and Toyota Crown Signia.
If you remember Honda’s first attempt to make such crossover based on the Accord you must be aware of Accord Crosstour in the 2010 year. they really tried to combine look and practicality of sedans and crossovers. but because of many reason it does not worked well for them but they still believe they can make market believe in them with their upcoming attempt in 2028.
Since Accord is an very familiar brand and people already have their trust it can bring good numbers if Honda get all the pieces right.
Expected Specs
As per our trusted sources, they are planning to name it Accord SUV or Accord Cross. it is likely to be available around mid 2029 and its production will be done at Honda’s Marysville, Ohio plant. this will be simultaneously manufactured along with popular sedan model of Accord. it’s expected features include:
- Expect a 2.0-liter four-cylinder hybrid setup with high power batteries and generator electric motor.
- likely to feature e-axle AWD system instead of AWD. this will enhance its performance in all-weather conditions.
- it will have rugged body with body cladding and raised ground clearance for practicality.
Pricing & Expected Positioning
The Honda Sedan’s price is expected around $28,000 for base model while the higher level of trims will be costing you $35,000 to $40,000. I think this perfectly counters the top selling Subaru Outback which is priced around $35,000.
Honda is likely to focus on keeping entry level price little lower to Outback while giving latest features and greater fuel efficiency.
