2026 Toyota Crown is Better Than a Camry for Just $1K More

Officially known as a successor to the Avalon, The 2026 Toyota Crown still remains most misunderstood sedan in the Toyota lineup. Today in this post, i am going to explain why 2026 Toyota Crown is more valuable sedan than more popular Toyota Camry.

Driving Experience: Crown vs. Camry

You guys will be surprised to know that 2026 Toyota Crown’s driving is very smooth and feel more refined driving experience. I have personally driven both 2025 Camry and 2026 Crown, let me tell you there is huge difference between both of these cars in terms of driving experience. 2026 Toyota Crown simply drives better than anything.

Unique Design and Stance

2026 Toyota Crown is definitely looks very higher off the ground than any of the sedan in the market. However, despite being little taller it feels very much like traditional sedan you can get in out easily also driving feels like traditional sedan.

You might wonder this taller stance might make 2026 Crown feel like SUV. But not at all, Crown does not give you any kind of SUV feel. It’s an modern tech and traditional sedan design.

Interior Space: Is It Really Cramped?

I have seen many critics claiming Crown feels very cramped compared to the Camry. But, let me tell you both (Crown & Camry) provide sufficient interior space. I’m 5’11” and i had no issues sitting comfortably in the front or rear seats. But still, i advise you to check in any nearby showroom of Toyota just to have your personal opinion.

Trim Levels and Powertrains

The Toyota Crown comes in four trims:

  1. XLE (entry-level)
  2. Limited
  3. Nightshade
  4. Platinum (top-tier)

Best part of 2026 Toyota Camry is that it comes in hybrid powertrains. base engine is 2.4L turbocharged 4-cylinder connected with electric motors. This engine is capable of producing 340 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque.

Top level trims like Nightshade and Platinum will be getting 2.5L naturally aspirated 4-cylinder hybrid system capable of producing 236 horsepower. Toyota has focused on developing fuel efficient system rather than power capable engine. Expected fuel economy of 2026 Toyota Camry is impressive at 42 MPG in the city and 41 MPG on the highway.

Interior Features and Value

2026 Toyota Crown’s interior feels more premium than Camry. XLE trim include huge 12.3-inch infotainment screen, Both front seats are heated and ventilated. On top of that we get 11-speaker JBL audio system which sounds excellent.

Additionally, Crown features fixed glass panoramic roof for premium feel. for safety there is added Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 which completes its feature list.

Pricing Misconceptions

Lot’s of people think that 2026 Toyota Crown cost $55,000 which is cost fo Platinum trim. But they don’t consider lower trim pricing which i feel very competitive and more affordable.

This happens with pickup trucks too, people see the high-end price and assume it’s base price. It’s simply not accurate.

  • Crown XLE: ~$37,000
  • Camry XLE AWD Hybrid: ~$36,000

Let’s not forget that, Toyota offering more discount on Crown than Camry. For just more $1000 Crown do offer much more luxurious features.
