Toyota is investing high in their electric lineup. The 2026 Toyota BZ is the latest addition to it, previously it was known as BZ4X.

Name Changed to BZ
The old BZ4X name is gone and now it is replaced with the simple BZ. this BZ stands for “Beyond Zero” showing it’s commitment to zero carbon emission. I personally like this new name, it feels very clean and easy to remember.
2026 Toyota BZ Powertrain Upgrade
Previous year model BZ4X was highly criticized for it’s engine but Toyota has worked out to improve in this 2026 BZ model. This is now capable of producing 214 hp on front wheel drive and 338 hp on all-wheel drive model. this is an 50% increase to previous model.
As per Toyota, 2026 Toyota BZ is set to achieve 0-60 mph in just 4.9 seconds. This will offer two battery packs 74.7 kWh (standard on most trims) 57.7 kWh (on the new XLE FWD Plus model).
Range and Charging
The 57.7 kWh (on the new XLE FWD Plus model) is going to have 314 miles of range in a single full charge. It is also equipped with DC fast charging which enables it to 10% to 80% in just 30 minutes. Also, it’s compatibility with the North American Charging Standard (NACS) further improves it practicability.
Drive Modes and Off-Road Tech
2026 Toyota BZ has now loaded with driving modes which are as follow:
- X-Mode: this mode is designed to adopt traction according to snow, dirt, or gravel.
- Grip Control: This helps you maintain optimal or maximum traction on slippery or tricky roads.
- Flat Rear Floor: this mode further improves rear seat comfort by minimizing center hump.
2026 Toyota BZ Interior
The 2026 Toyota BZ Interior is fully equipped with the latest tech. We see 14-inch touchscreen which is similar to that of Tundra or Sequoia. It also features Wireless Apple CarPlay & Android Auto, Wi-Fi Connect, Digital Key & Ambient lighting. New Ambient lighting is now customizable with 64 colors.
Additionally, we get Dual Qi Wireless Charging for driver and passenger for more practicability. I am also impressed with regenerative braking where paddle shifters allow fine control over power output and generation.
Comfort & Premium Material
I like heated and SoftTex-trimmed seats given in aesthetic light gray or black color. Added, 20-inch wheels gives it an higher stance with much greater presence. Other added features include:

Price & Release Date
2026 Toyota BZ is going to be released in the June 2025 with deliveries starting in the first quarter of the 2026. There will be complete 8 years / 100,000 miles Standard Toyota limited warranty coverage which include EV components like battery.
2026 Toyota BZ Colors
Good news is 2026 Toyota BZ will be available in the two tone and various other tones like:
- Wind Chill Pearl
- Supersonic Red
- Heavy Metal
- Blueprint Black
