Showcasing the Present and Future Lineup

Upon arrival, guests were greeted by a uniquely wrapped Hilux, symbolizing Toyota’s connection to DIY enthusiasts and outdoor adventurers.

The event featured the 2025 Corolla Cross, a model that has garnered significant attention in South Africa. Additionally, Toyota showcased the hydrogen-powered Mirai and the fully electric bZ4X, highlighting the company’s advancements in alternative energy vehicles.

The display also included the current generation Fortuner, the RAV4 plug-in hybrid, and race cars from the GR Cup series, such as the GR Corolla and GR86. These models underscore Toyota’s diverse portfolio, catering to a wide range of consumer preferences.

Business Insights and Market Performance

TSAM’s CEO, Andrew Kirby, provided an overview of the company’s performance. In 2024, just over 515,000 passenger and commercial vehicles were sold, a slight decrease from the projected 540,000 units. This shortfall was attributed to economic factors that did not improve as anticipated.

The best-selling models included the Starlet, Corolla Cross (with 46% being hybrid variants), and the Fortuner in the SUV segment. In the commercial vehicle category, the Hilux led sales, with significant contributions from the Land Cruiser and vehicles sold to the taxi industry.

Toyota announced several exciting models set to launch in 2025:
