Škoda Enyaq 2025 Review: What’s New and Why It Matters

Today, we’re taking an in-depth look at the facelifted 2025 Skoda Enyaq, the brand’s first mass-produced electric vehicle (EV).

A Brief History of the Skoda Enyaq

First introduced in 2021, the Skoda Enyaq has quickly become a popular choice in the EV segment. In fact, Skoda has sold more units of the Enyaq than I’ve had Greggs sausage rolls—which is saying a lot! The facelifted version now brings more features at a similar price point, making it a compelling option in today’s competitive EV market.

Trim Levels and Variants

The new Enyaq lineup consists of several trim levels:

  • SEAL (Base Model)
  • Edition
  • Sport Line
  • VRS (High-Performance Variant, Returning Soon)

Additionally, you’ll still have the choice between the standard hatchback and the sleeker coupe version.

Exterior Design: What’s New?

If you’re thinking this looks familiar, you’re not wrong. While I previously reviewed the Skoda Elroq, this updated Enyaq bears a striking resemblance. However, there are key differences worth noting.

Front-End Redesign

Skoda has given the Enyaq a more modern look by incorporating a new Tech Deck front grille, hiding all the sensors behind a seamless panel. This prevents the bulky radar units from disrupting the design. Additionally, the split headlight design remains, now featuring Matrix LED technology on mid-to-top trims, with standard LEDs for base models.

Interestingly, Skoda showcased the light-up grille on teaser images of the Elroq, but it turns out this feature isn’t available on the Elroq in the UK—only on top-spec Enyaq models.

Updated Skoda Branding

The traditional Skoda badge has been replaced with the company’s new lettering across the front, bringing it in line with other recent models. A dark chrome trim runs along the edges, giving the Enyaq a refined look.

Side Profile & Aerodynamics

The facelifted Enyaq retains its wheelbase but benefits from improved aerodynamics. These enhancements result in an increased driving range, now up to 359 miles (EPA estimate pending). The available 21-inch alloy wheels look fantastic but may impact range slightly. Standard trims feature 19-inch wheels.

A new dark chrome strip along the lower body adds an elegant touch, reminiscent of older Audi Allroad models. The Enyaq’s latest color, Olive Green, is exclusive to this model and looks fantastic in person—though it may appear black in some lighting.

Rear-End Refinements

While the front gets a high-tech overhaul, the rear remains relatively traditional. The biggest change is the new taillight design, featuring vertical streaks for a more dynamic look. Just like the front, the Skoda badge is replaced with lettering, aligning with the brand’s new identity.

Cargo Space

The Enyaq continues to offer class-leading practicality with a 585-liter trunk—one of the largest in its segment. Notable features include:

  • Adjustable boot floor
  • Smooth load lip
  • Underfloor storage for charging cables
  • Rear seat release levers for expanded cargo space

Interior Updates: More Tech, Same Comfort

The Enyaq’s cabin retains its high-quality materials and practical layout, but with a few noteworthy updates.

Steering Wheel & Infotainment

  • The steering wheel now features Skoda lettering instead of the old badge.
  • Mid-to-top trims come with a sport steering wheel, while lower trims get a two-spoke design.
  • The infotainment system now offers a more intuitive UI, removing the need to log in every time you start the car.
  • A new shortcut allows direct access to the speed limit warning feature.

Upholstery Choices

  • Skoda introduces new Lodge and Lounge interior trims.
  • Lounge trim features artificial leather & suede with mint green piping.
  • The cabin uses sustainable materials, creating a premium feel compared to competitors like the VW ID.4.

Standard Features Across Trims

Skoda has improved value-for-money by standardizing key features across all Enyaq models:

  • Adaptive Cruise Control
  • Heated Front Seats & Steering Wheel
  • Blind Spot Monitoring
  • Keyless Entry & Ignition
  • Electric Tailgate

Prices remain stable, though the entry-level Enyaq 50 is no longer available.

Battery, Range, and Performance

The updated Enyaq comes with two battery options:

  • Enyaq 60: ~60 kWh (actual ~58 kWh), offering 268 miles of range
  • Enyaq 85: ~85 kWh (actual ~77 kWh), offering 359 miles of range

Charging Improvements

  • Enyaq 60: Now charges at 165 kW (upgraded from previous 120 kW)
  • Enyaq 85: Charges at 175 kW
  • 0–80% charge in ~28 minutes

Performance Specs

  • Enyaq 60 (RWD): 204 hp, 0–60 mph in 8.1 sec
  • Enyaq 85 (RWD): 286 hp, 0–60 mph in ~6 sec
  • Enyaq 85x (AWD): Dual motor performance figures TBD

The VRS model, expected later, will likely bring even more power and sharper performance.

Rear Passenger Comfort

Interior space remains unchanged, maintaining the Enyaq’s reputation for excellent passenger comfort. Key rear-seat features include:

  • Generous knee room (even for 6’3” passengers)
  • Heated rear seats (on higher trims)
  • Window sunshades
  • Dual USB-C charging ports

Pricing & Availability

  • Base Model (Enyaq 60 SEAL): Starts at ~$39,000
  • Enyaq 85 Edition: From ~$43,000
  • Sport Line & VRS: Pricing TBD, but expect above $50,000

From April 2025, UK buyers will need to factor in an EV luxury tax on models over $40,000.
