2025 Tesla Model Y Gets Key Upgrades in Performance Comfort and Design
The 2025 refreshed Tesla Model Y will now offer two variants and they have better range. First is standard RWD which will cost $41,990. It is going to have 290 miles of range (466 km). Second option is dual-motor AWD, this is an long range option with range of 341 miles (550+ km). This AWD variant is quicker to accelerate and it will cost $49,990.
We have also got some exterior updates, at the front fascia you can see there is a full-width light bar that cleverly integrates turn signals. Headlights now positioned little lower for more clearer road vision in the night. I like new clever pedestrian-safety system which slightly raises the hood while a collision making softer impact. The frunk is now deeper and wider and also has drain plug for cleaning.
When it comes to interior upgrade, Tesla has clearly listened to past complaints and suggestions. The indicator stalk is back and it feels very premium. What tesla is saying that there cabin noise is now reduced to 22%.
Tesla has also added Ventilated and Heated Seats as an standard with both RWD and AWD. I also like the upgrade in the dashboard panel like soft-touch materials, textile accents, and configurable ambient lighting, which now stretches into the rear doors. There is more comfort to rear seats now with longer seat cushions and increased legroom and headroom.
Tech Improvements
- 15.4″ Center Touchscreen: Slightly larger with sharper graphics. New rear touchscreen for climate control, media, and even gaming.
- 65W USB-C ports – three of them are given which can charge full-size laptops simultaneously.
- “Airwave 2.0” climate system now includes a swing mode, letting air gently oscillate.
You also get auto-folding rear seats and an electric-powered return function, ideal for maximizing cargo space at the push of a button.
Autopilot & Sound System
Autopilot remains intuitive and responsive, with smart lane changes and self-parking. The sound system has also been improved:
- RWD Model: 9 speakers
- AWD Long Range: 15 speakers + subwoofer
This new sound system is balanced and provides immersive experience, especially with the newly insulated cabin.
Despite all of these upgrades it lacks in few areas like:
- Rain-sensing wipers can be erratic.
- Voice commands aren’t always intuitive and require specific phrasing.
- Steering feel remains somewhat dull compared to rivals.
